Generating fear to create paranoia.

So Tony Blair and his cohorts are setting out their stall for the next election, and it is a further lurch to the right. I doubt if there is anybody who now doubts that we have the nearest thing to a fascist regime that Britain has ever experienced.
The thrust of their election strategy is to heighten peoples apprehension about "terrorism" Introduce compulsory ID cards, a greater use of “Anti-social Behaviour Orders” and create an FBI style agency to fight "terrorism". These measures will be a direct attack on civil liberties. More surveillance, phone tapping and questioning of any type of dissent. Legitimate protests and questioning of the State will be seen as a possible risk and will be taken as having links with "terrorist" To call into question any action of the State will become dangerous ground to walk.
On top of this they are planning more trials without juries and the right to hold people who have committed no crime but who they think might. This is surely the thought police in action They will deem to know what you're thinking and take action against you. It will be very dangerous indeed to
think of criticising the State, dissent will not be tolerated.
All the more reason for the ordinary people of this country to stand up and be counted. To come together and challenge the State at every step of this road to Fascism. The State must be tamed and destroyed in favour of a true democracy of the people, federated communities working together to create a system of social justice and freedom of the individual. A society based the the principles of free association, voluntary co-operation and mutual aid.

ID CARDS.

The information on ID cards does not add up. Apart from the cost £5.5B not counting the cost of all the outlets across the country being fitted out with scanners to read them, plus the ongoing running costs. This to stamp out £50M in benefit fraud. Of course we are told it will help stop terrorists operating in this country. No one yet has come forward and explained how this will be done. Terrorist can be visitors, and or residents. The visitors won’t have or need one and the resident will have his or hers. Remember Timothy McVeigh? Spain has an ID card system, remember Madrid. Nobody believes that an ID card system will do what the government claims it will do, but everybody agrees it will infringe on our civil rights. So why? Surely the government doesn’t believe its own propaganda. I don’t believe they do, but what the system will give the government is a vast universal database, photographs, finger prints and perhaps DNA of all its citizens, eureka, This will be open to all manner of groups, benefit offices, medical centres and not forgetting the police. Is the information secure? With more privatisation the number of groups will grow and the information will flow between private and public bodies. Lost or stolen cards will leave you in limbo, no benefit, no medical care, and who knows what your card is up to while out of your control.
